Fractional Resurfacing is the gold standard for the treatment of:

Lines and wrinkles
Acne scars
Stretch marks
Discoloration
Sun damage/age spots
Textural issues
Brighter/tighter Skin
Collagen Boost

Pico Fractional can be performed on:

Face
Neck
Chest (Décolleté)
Back of hands
Back
Any area where there is textural issues or scarring
Also, an excellent treatment to slow and prevent premature aging of the skin. By its very title, fractional resurfacing is just that: fraction of the skin. When an area is treated only fractions of the skin are affected. Approximately 40% of the area treated is actually affected by the laser. By doing this and leaving healthy skin intact around the treated tissue, we rapidly accelerate healing as well as avoid longer and more potentially dangerous side effects.

Discovery Pico Fractional Resurfacing delivers a super-fast, super-short burst of energy that becomes an acoustic wave (sound wave) of energy that disrupts the Epidermis to create thousands of microscopic injuries into the old damaged tissue. The result of this is a regeneration of new healthy tissue to replace the old damaged tissue. The regeneration process begins immediately and will continue for 6-12 months after the treatment. Results take time and patience is required.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, your skin will be very red and you will be experiencing a sunburn sensation treatment area (these are all desired outcomes of effective treatment). Very aggressive treatments will leave a light red crust that will dissipate over a 5 day period. Very light treatments, known as lunchtime peels, will leave you red for approximately 24 hours.

How many laser treatments will I need?

If we are doing any type of corrective treatment you will need a minimum of 3 treatments and many as 6-8 if your condition is severe. Treatments can be spaced 6-12 weeks apart.

How long will it take to see results?

A minimum of 6 weeks but when you see the first signs of improvement you are just beginning and can expect to see improvements for 6-12 months after your last treatment.
